SUMMARY
The person who serves in this role leads the overall vision and strategy for Kids’ Ministry, building a child’s spiritual foundation and partnering with parents as the primary disciple-makers of their kids. The Kids' Ministry Director gives direction to the Kids’ Ministry servant leaders and promotes spiritually healthy families in our church, across neighborhoods, and in our community.

- A vibrant, engaging Kids’ Ministry that is meeting the spiritual needs of children/families in our congregation and community and fully engaging them into the broader community of our church family
- Weekend ministry is running smoothly and scaling to current needs and future growth
- Effective shepherding, discipleship and development of people (staff, volunteers and parents) to help them move together with purpose in reaching this current generation and generations to come with the love of Jesus
- Kids Ministry leaders are aligned, unified and collaborating to see success in clearly identified goals and objectives
- Meaningful resources and rites of passage/celebration opportunities are provided for individuals and families in KM to help create life transformation, a flourishing family, and a culture of worship and celebration.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
- Understand, engage and personally own the mission, vision, values of One Mission
- Supervise Kids’ ministry leaders and give direction towards alignment with One Mission’s other ministry areas.
- Lead, engage and participate in vital meetings, including but not limited to Staff meetings, 1x1 with Lead Pastor, and Kids Ministry Team meetings
- Prepare, plan, evaluate and assess on-going ministry; observe “ministry in action” by visiting classes, check-in and welcome areas. Ensure an “end user” approach for kingdom impact.
- Develop people- recruit, train, empower staff and volunteers to own the ministry; develop and deploy leaders to take greater ownership of the mission and purpose of KM and to be released as leaders of leaders (hero-makers)
- Plan and execute yearly ministry plan and budget to advance the overarching Church Goals of One Mission; provide regular rhythms for feedback and accountability to these goals
- Oversee the curriculum planning for Early Childhood and Elementary
- Oversee and coordinate volunteers at Adventure Clubs and annually assess efficacy and alignment of each with 1MBC.
- Serve as part of the overall One Mission staff at the Pastor/Director level to support the vision and mission, make disciples, collaborate with other ministries, and fulfill assignments and projects as assigned or needed
- Oversee the development of the club curriculum for Boot Camp clubs and Adventure Clubs.
- Equip and train students on club curriculum for Boot Camp clubs and Adventure Clubs and captains and proteges at Captain’s Camp.
- Oversee the communications, calendar and kids ministry page on the One Mission website including photography, video, and marketing/promotional focus on social media and other platforms.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years training and/or experience in leading Kids’ and/or family related ministry; passion for children and families
- Proven developer of people
- Competent, friendly, professional; able to build trust and make people feel welcomed and valued
- Mature follower of Jesus Christ; availability to work Sundays, occasional evenings and religious holidays as needed
- Sees themselves as an owner of the mission, vision, values and pathway of One Mission Bible Church
- Theologically aligns with the core beliefs of One Mission and becomes a missional partner within 3 months of hire
