Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Medical Assistant Trainer to join our growing healthcare team. This floating role is essential for training and supporting clinical staff across multiple clinic locations, particularly during acquisitions and office integrations. The trainer will ensure consistent clinical workflows, compliance, and quality of patient care through hands-on instruction and mentorship.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Train newly hired and existing medical assistants on clinical procedures, EHR documentation, patient rooming, vitals, injections, phlebotomy, specimen handling, and other core competencies.
  • Standardize clinical workflows across all sites, ensuring adherence to organizational protocols and compliance standards.
  • Support new office acquisitions by establishing clinical operations and training on-site staff during transitions.
  • Identify clinical performance gaps and provide ongoing education, coaching, and skills refreshers.
  • Develop and maintain clinical training materials, competency checklists, and reference guides.
  • Serve as interim MA support at offices during staff shortages or onboarding periods.
  • Monitor quality assurance metrics related to clinical workflows and patient safety.
  • Report training effectiveness, staff progress, and clinical challenges to leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant diploma or certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) required.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical outpatient setting.
  • Previous experience in a lead, preceptor, or trainer role strongly preferred.
  • Strong clinical knowledge, communication skills, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency with Athena and medical office technology.
  • Ability to travel regularly across Southeast Michigan; must have reliable personal transportation.
  • Knowledge of infection control, OSHA standards, and HIPAA compliance.

Work Environment:

  • Regular work at multiple clinic locations in Southeast Michigan.
  • Hands-on and fast-paced clinical setting with patient-facing responsibilities
