We're hiring the person who controls a real piece of our revenue: the front desk. This is the first face a guest sees and the last person they talk to before they leave, which means you set the tone for the whole visit and decide whether that guest rebooks. We're looking for someone confident, people-first, and hungry to see their numbers move.
WHO THIS IS NOT FOR
Skip this role if you want to clock in, answer phones, and clock out. This is a sales position, and hitting your numbers is part of the job every day.
If daily tracking and accountability sound stressful instead of motivating, this isn't the right fit.
If you'd rather avoid talking to guests about products and their next appointment, look elsewhere.
If none of that describes you, keep reading.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Greet every guest with warmth and make them feel at home the moment they walk in
- Recommend services and products that actually make sense for what each guest needs
- Make sure every client leaves with their next appointment already on the books
- Follow up with clients through calls, texts, and emails to keep relationships strong and reduce no-shows
- Track your daily and monthly numbers, including your prebooking rate and retail-to-service ratio, and know exactly where you stand
- Participate in daily huddles to keep the team aligned and the energy high
- Give new guests a quick tour so they understand everything Olde Soul Barbershop has to offer
- Ask happy clients for reviews and referrals in a way that feels natural, not scripted
- Keep the front desk and retail area clean, stocked, and looking sharp
WHO YOU ARE
- Confident, not pushy. You know the difference between selling and serving.
- You enjoy talking to strangers, learning what they need, and making their day better.
- Comfortable holding your ground. If a guest hesitates on a $30 product or pushes back on price, you don't fold; you ask a question and find the real objection.
- Organized and detail-oriented. Nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.
- Comfortable with technology and quick to learn new software. Experience with Mangomint or a similar CRM is a plus.
- Coachable. You take feedback well and want to be part of something building toward more.
- Background in service, hospitality, retail, or healthcare reception helpful but not required.
WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU
- Competitive hourly pay of $15 plus commission and performance bonuses
- A team that supports each other and celebrates wins together
- Real ongoing training so you keep growing in this role and beyond
- Discounts on services and products
- A workplace that takes pride in the experience it creates, for guests and for the team
