We are looking for a creative, personable, and organized person to join our team in a hybrid role that is approximately 50% front desk/client experience and 50% photo and video content support.

This is not a social media management position. You will not be responsible for managing Olde Soul’s social accounts, creating a posting calendar, responding to comments, analyzing performance, or developing our overall social strategy.

Instead, we’re looking for someone who can help us and our barbers capture more great content.

What You’ll Do

Front Desk + Client Experience

Approximately half of your time will be spent helping run the front of the shop, including:

• Greeting and checking in clients
• Assisting with booking and rescheduling appointments
• Answering calls, texts, and client questions
• Helping walk-ins find the right barber
• Checking clients out
• Helping clients learn about services, memberships, products, and upcoming events
• Supporting barbers and shop leadership throughout the day
• Keeping the front desk and client areas organized and presentable

Photo + Video Content Support

The other half of your time will focus on helping capture content throughout the shops.

This can include:

• Filming haircuts, beard trims, shaves, transformations, and finished looks
• Taking before-and-after photos for barbers
• Helping barbers film videos for their own social media
• Capturing behind-the-scenes moments around the shop
• Taking photos and videos during events, classes, collaborations, and promotions
• Helping barbers feel comfortable in front of the camera
• Setting up simple shots, angles, lighting, or phone positioning
• Capturing short vertical clips that can be turned into Reels, TikToks, and Stories
• Sometimes, doing basic video editing when needed
• Organizing photos and video footage so the Olde Soul team and individual barbers can easily use it

You will not be expected to manage Olde Soul’s social media accounts or be responsible for posting, comments, DMs, analytics, or overall social strategy.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be a professional photographer or videographer.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is comfortable taking photos and filming video on a phone
• Has a good eye for angles, lighting, and interesting moments
• Understands what makes short-form video look good
• Is familiar with Instagram Reels and TikTok
• Can do basic video editing using tools such as CapCut, Instagram, or similar apps
• Is comfortable approaching barbers and clients to capture content
• Can help someone who isn't comfortable on camera loosen up
• Is outgoing, friendly, and good with clients
• Is dependable and organized
• Can switch easily between front-desk responsibilities and creative work
• Takes initiative instead of waiting to be told every single thing to film

Experience working in a salon, barbershop, hospitality, photography, videography, or content creation is a plus, but isn't required.

We care more about your eye, personality, reliability, and ability to capture good content.
