LOCATION: Twin Cities Area (MN), Southern MN, Western Wisconsin and Iowa


POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are growing quickly and looking for a Construction Safety Professional to join our team! This is a full-time, exempt position, with a great benefit package (because our people deserve it!) Our safety professionals are mobile, and we work hard to assign clients within a reasonable driving distance (using a company vehicle) from their home. We are looking for a great relationship builder that is client-focused, self-motivated, well organized, and provides exceptional follow-through. 


JOB RESPONSIBILITES:


  • Work with a couple dozen clients to help them drive a strong safety culture.
  • Respond to customer questions on safety/environmental compliance issues.
  • Conduct safety audits, using IAuditor software, at assigned construction facilities noting MNOSHA (or other states) and federal OSHA regulation violations and/or best workplace practices based on industry.
  • Develop customized safety programs and training modules for clients from available training modules.
  • Conduct engaging safety trainings at client’s office, jobsite or OECS’s state of the art training center.
  • Participate in client’s Safety Committee meetings to provide direction and advice.
  • Provide OSHA Compliance onsite support when OSHA Compliance Officer is conducting a jobsite inspection.
  • Build rapport and trust with construction workers and management.
  • Participate in informal conferences with OSHA in contesting citations.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Attend and provide input at construction progress meetings.
  • Proficiently worked on sites with large to mid-size commercial and/or residential general contractors and subcontractors.
  • Provide knowledge on OSHA 1926, MN Rules 5207 and various ANSI/NFPA standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to work at home, in office and at various construction sites.
  • Proficiently working on construction environments.
  • Ability to work on different terrain such as ladders, scaffolding, MEWPS


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Multiple years of experience in safety-related construction experience is required.
  • Safety BA or MA degree, or construction safety management background a plus
  • Working knowledge about OSHA standards for construction.
  • Background in HAZWOPER, DOT, ISNET, and Avetta is ideal.
  • Ability to investigate accidents to identify where basic controls need to be implemented to reduce or eliminate risk.
  • Has vast knowledge of industrial construction industry.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong intercommunication skills: ability to work with diverse personality types from management to line-level.
  • Ability to present compliance training in a positive manner.
  • Require a clean driving record with a current license and be able to properly operate a vehicle driving to clients to conduct consulting work.
  • Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, word and iAuditor/Procore is ideal


PREFERRED

  • Current Outreach Trainer Certified
  • Construction Certifications are a plus but not required (NASSCO, NPDES, NACE.)
  • safety certifications CHST, OHST ASP, CSP).
