This position is a system engineering position on cleared program supporting a hybrid environment that facilitates high priority defense initiatives, in addition to developing and integrating highly available software applications, and will work on a scrum team tasked with development and maintenance of the current and planned capabilities. Candidates applying for this position must be actively TS/SCI cleared, as well as be willing and able to work on-site in Springfield, Va. Successful candidates for this position will have an education (BS) in a science or technology related discipline, multiple years of experience in systems engineering, and previous experience working within a team environment utilizing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other agile methodologies and processes. The ideal candidate will also have experience with at least one programming language. Candidate is expected to collaborate cross-functionally with subcontractors, local engineers, and geographically dispersed teammates.
Roles and Responsibilities:
As a Systems Engineer and Systems Administrator on a DevSecOps program, you’ll deploy and integrate new applications into our virtualized domain by using infrastructure as code to build new hosts, deploy via remote management / PCoIP, update permissions and policies to onboard new users and service accounts, troubleshoot defects, and maintain the system’s integrity by applying frequent updates and rigorous health monitoring. This position may also require travel to support hardware deployments at customer sites and on-call hours to meet system availability requirements in our service level agreement.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems, and information technology related responsibilities including design, development, and analysis of computer systems or programs based on and related to user or system design specifications; applying systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
