Oasis Arts is looking for a Marketing Manager to lead all marketing, communications, and audience development efforts. This is a creative, revenue generating and strategic role responsible for building Oasis Arts' brand presence, growing audiences, and telling the organization's story in ways that resonate deeply with San Francisco's queer, arts, and nightlife communities — and beyond.

Oasis Arts is a San Francisco–based nonprofit dedicated to raising the impact of queer arts both locally and globally. Drawing on a decade of legacy in the queer arts community, Oasis Arts provides artists — especially those from LGBTQ+ and BIPOC backgrounds — with space, mentorship, resources, and platforms to create and share innovative work. In partnership with community organizations and civic arts agencies, the organization nurtures diversity, fosters intergenerational artistic exchange, and amplifies voices that have historically been excluded from mainstream arts spaces.

Description

Position Summary

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial storyteller with strong digital fluency, a connection to queer culture, and the ability to market everything from an intimate donor salon to a sold-out theatrical run. This role works closely with the Executive Director, Artistic Director, Development Director, Booking Manager, and programming team to ensure all external communications are cohesive, compelling, and mission-aligned.


Key Responsibilities

Brand, Strategy & Communications

  • Develop and execute an integrated brand voice, visual identity and annual marketing and communications strategy across all channels and aligned with programming, fundraising, and organizational goals
  • Develop narrative, storylines and serve as the primary point of contact for press and media, cultivating relationships with arts journalists, bloggers, and community media
  • Craft compelling copy and marketing assets for show announcements, press releases, email campaigns, donor communications, and website content
  • Track, analyze and report on digital metrics and ticketing and audience data to identify trends and inform programming and marketing decisions
  • Develop strategies to grow and diversify Oasis Arts' audiences, with particular attention to LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and intergenerational communities

Marketing & Social Media

  • Build and execute sales-driving marketing campaigns for all productions, community events, and special programming - from concept to execution - to maximize ticket sales for each show
  • Manage Oasis Arts' social media presence across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and others), developing content calendars and executing email and digital campaigns that grow reach and engagement
  • Oversee the organization's website, optimizing the ticket purchase path and ensuring content is current, accurate, and optimized for audience discovery
  • Develop, cultivate and manage relationships with graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and other creative vendors

Revenue & Ticket Sales

  • Partner with the Booking Manager and Front of House Manager to develop pricing, packaging, and promotional strategies - including single tickets, group sales, and subscriptions - that drive earned revenue across the season
  • Develop group sales, membership, and subscription marketing strategies to convert single-ticket buyers into repeat, season-long patrons
  • Use audience and purchasing data to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities (e.g., upgrades, add-ons, future-show promotion) at the point of purchase and post-purchase
  • Collaborate with the Development Director to align marketing and donor communications, and support fundraising campaigns and events


Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or audience development, in arts, culture, nightlife, or a mission-driven organization
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills across formats and audiences
  • Fluency with marketing technology, social media platforms, email marketing tools, and digital analytics
  • Strong design sensibility, with experience working with or directing graphic designers and creative vendors
  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
  • Alignment with Oasis Arts' mission and deep comfort working within LGBTQ+ and BIPOC cultural spaces

Preferred

  • Experience marketing live performance, theater, nightlife, or community events
  • Familiarity with San Francisco's arts and cultural media landscape
  • Experience with CRM or audience management systems
