FBE Schools is a major program of The Foundation for Black Excellence, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide comprehensive intervention, prevention, education, and community services for vulnerable populations in the community. FBE Schools believes that the traditional method of education used in most schools is based on a system of oppression designed to maintain the status quo. To meet the needs of today’s children and society’s future needs, we must provide children with an education that fosters independence, develops problem-solvers, and promotes the importance of each individual’s contribution to the universe in which we live and work. We work with our communities to provide anti-biased and anti-racist Montessori schools that develop children who are lifelong learners, seekers of the truth, and fearless advocates for justice.

Oakland Community Montessori School (OCMS) is a high-quality, community-based early childhood program serving children ages 18 months through 5 years. We are committed to providing an authentic Montessori experience through an anti-biased, anti-racist, and culturally affirming lens. Our small, nurturing community is rooted in strong relationships, joyful learning, and a belief that children and educators thrive when they feel known, respected, and supported.

We are looking for a creative, caring, organized, and professional Substitute Support Staff Member to join our community and work with children ages 18 months to 5 years old.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring preschool teacher, early childhood educator, or experienced caregiver who wants to be a part of our intentional Montessori community without committing too many hours.
