Registered Nurse (RN) – Radiation Oncology

Location: Brandywine, MD

Pay Rate: $45-$50/hour

Position Type: Contract-to-Hire

NurseAmerica is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a leading outpatient oncology practice in Brandywine, MD. This Contract-to-Hire opportunity offers the chance to work alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team providing exceptional care to patients undergoing radiation oncology treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, laboratory results, treatment response, and psychosocial needs
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
  • Administer prescribed medications and supportive therapies
  • Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects and coordinate care interventions as needed
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, symptom management, and follow-up care
  • Provide emotional support and advocacy throughout the patient care journey
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Coordinate treatment authorizations, referrals, scheduling, and patient follow-up
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, and safety standards
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, radiation therapists, and other clinical team members

Qualifications

  • Active Maryland RN License or Compact RN License
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Minimum 1-3 years of Registered Nurse experience
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in Radiation Oncology, Oncology, Hematology, or outpatient cancer care settings preferred
  • Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and patient education skills

  • Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds
