We are seeking compassionate and clinically skilled nurses who are comfortable caring for orthopedic, spine, fracture, and post-operative patients in hospital and acute-care environments.

Position Summary

The Orthopedic/Spine RN provides comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing orthopedic and spinal procedures and those recovering from injuries or surgery. The RN performs assessments, develops and implements individualized care plans, administers medications and treatments, monitors patient recovery, manages pain, promotes mobility, and collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to orthopedic and spine patients.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and reassess patients throughout their stay.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
  • Provide care to patients recovering from orthopedic and spinal procedures.
  • Monitor patients for post-operative complications and changes in clinical condition.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and pain-management interventions as ordered.
  • Monitor surgical incisions, wounds, drains, and other post-operative sites.
  • Assist with mobility, positioning, transfers, and safe ambulation.
  • Reinforce mobility restrictions, weight-bearing precautions, and post-operative instructions.
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications, wound care, mobility, recovery, and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  • Follow infection prevention, patient safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in discharge planning and coordinate appropriate follow-up care.
  • Maintain clinical competencies and participate in continuing education and quality improvement activities.
  • Perform additional nursing duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma or applicable Compact RN license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN or BSN accepted.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • 1+ year of acute-care RN experience preferred.
  • Orthopedic, spine, surgical, post-operative, or Med/Surg experience preferred.
  • Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Strong teamwork and patient-education skills.

  • Full-time, part-time, and PRN available
