About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced OR nurses who are passionate about surgical patient care, patient safety, teamwork, and delivering high-quality perioperative services.


Position Summary

The Operating Room RN provides professional nursing care throughout the perioperative process. The RN may be responsible for preoperative assessment and preparation, intraoperative circulating responsibilities, patient monitoring, surgical documentation, coordination with the surgical team, and maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to surgical patients.
  • Perform preoperative assessments and prepare patients for scheduled procedures.
  • Verify patient identification, surgical procedure, consent, medical history, and required documentation.
  • Prepare and assess the operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies for scheduled procedures.
  • Serve as an OR Circulator and coordinate patient care throughout surgical procedures.
  • Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
  • Assist with patient positioning and ensure patient safety throughout the procedure.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and surgical activities.
  • Follow infection prevention, sterile technique, safety, and quality standards.
  • Maintain appropriate supplies, equipment, and inventory for surgical procedures.
  • Educate and support patients and families as appropriate before and after procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement, performance improvement, and staff education activities.
  • Maintain required clinical competencies and comply with applicable nursing and healthcare standards.
  • Perform additional perioperative nursing duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma or applicable Compact RN license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN, Diploma, or BSN accepted.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of operating room or perioperative nursing experience preferred.
  • OR Circulator experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and assist with patient movement and positioning as required.

Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, CNOR, or other perioperative certifications may be required or preferred depending on the assigned facility.
