The Staff Accountant will perform all accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchase order processing, sales order processing, and inventory transaction entry responsibilities, as well as financial responsibilities associated with the Company’s Finance/Accounting function in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Description

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and related financial statement supporting schedules on a timely basis.
  • Prepare monthly accrual entries for financial statement preparation on a timely basis.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Maintain weekly cash reports. Reconcile monthly bank account statements.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of all state and local income tax, franchise tax, and sales and use tax returns.
  • Prepare, file, and distribute the Federal 1099 forms annually.
  • Process inventory transactions and transfers.
  • Maintain fixed asset records including all additions, disposals, monthly depreciation, and periodic asset verification.
  • Perform all accounts payable duties of the Company, including processing invoices and generating payments.
  • Perform all accounts receivable duties of the Company, including generating invoices and collecting/applying payments.
  • Serve as the Company’s primary financial contact for vendors/customers and professional consultants/contractors.
  • Review and ensure compliance with applicable internal control documents.
  • Perform other duties as requested.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting.
  • 3+ years of experience working with QuickBooks Online and select ERP systems preferred. 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Outstanding written and verbal presentation skills
  • Must be able to work efficiently across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability to participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong collaboration, including problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and focus attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based accounting systems preferred
