Safety Specialist – Field & Operations

Location: Texas (Travel Required)

About the Role

NSTCS is seeking a high-performance, technology-driven Safety Specialist to support field operations, client compliance, and safety leadership across multiple construction projects nationwide.

This is not an entry-level clipboard role. This position requires maturity, accountability, and the ability to operate independently in fast-paced, high-expectation environments.

The Safety Specialist will be responsible for field inspections, incident investigations, safety training delivery, client interaction, and regulatory compliance support. This role requires travel, field presence, and strong communication with internal leadership.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct jobsite safety inspections and audits.
  • Perform detailed incident investigations and submit reports.
  • Deliver safety meetings, toolbox talks, and formal training sessions.
  • Ensure OSHA and regulatory compliance across assigned projects.
  • Perform hazard identification and corrective action tracking.
  • Review safety documentation (SSSPs, JHAs, etc.).
  • Travel to job sites throughout Texas and other states as required.
  • Submit digital reports via company iPad and safety platforms.
  • Communicate directly with client representatives and internal leadership.
  • Maintain professional composure in high-pressure environments.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 1–3+ years of safety experience in construction or industrial settings
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable using mobile devices and digital reporting systems
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel and drive long distances
  • Ability to walk uneven terrain and work outdoors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • OSHA 30 (minimum)
  • OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer
  • Board-recognized safety certifications (CHST, ASP, etc.)
  • Safety-related degree

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to drive extended distances
  • Ability to travel out of state as required
