You will assist in the daily care of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Client type: The client you will be assisting has challenges that we will discuss further during the interview process. We are looking for staff who can be stern, assertive yet compassionate. Additionally, for this position staff should be active and mobile. Client will be out on many activities and outings • Strong interpersonal skills and passion for helping those in need • Ability to move and stand for prolonged periods and frequently perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities: • Assist our individuals with activities of daily living • Maintain a healthy and comfortable living environment • Assist with and work to strengthen the individuals’ many daily living needs including but not limited to: nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication, and socialization skills • Help individuals to bathe, groom and dress, eat and drink if necessary, always working to improve self-reliance • Create daily schedules and plans for clients • Help set individual goals and track client progress, noting any drastic changes; report findings to superiors • Make phone calls and drive clients to appointments, meetings, events, etc. • Encourage individual skill development and work towards community integration • • Follow all health and safety protocol • Help clean and tidy home for the individuals • Attend continued education courses, training and get further certified as the job requires 

Qualifications: • Previous experience in personal care or other related fields • Compassionate and caring demeanor • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent • Valid driver’s license • CPR certification • Pass a state background check (dependent on state requirements) • Experience tracking and recording information 

Salary: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
