Novus is a transportation consulting firm based out of Austin, Texas. We are looking for a transportation planner with graduate education and/or up to five years of experience. This is a full-time position based in the Austin area.
As a transportation planner, you will play a crucial role in supporting our projects with TxDOT and other public agencies. You will have the ability to contribute in a fast paced environment while working closely with senior staff to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of transportation planning, including data collection and analysis, safety assessment, public and stakeholder engagement, economic analysis, and transportation policy development.
Responsibilities:
· Work with project team members on a variety of planning tasks
· Research and summarize planning documents
· Conduct safety analysis, traffic analysis, demographic assessment/projections, benefit-cost analysis, economic assessment, etc.
· Engage in client meetings and public meetings as needed
· Develop maps, graphics and PowerPoint presentations
· Write reports and technical memos
· Conduct project management and business development activities as needed
· Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
· Experience in this field - 0 to 5 Years
· Prior experience or demonstrated interest in public involvement or community engagement is a plus.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Proficiency in ArcGIS and Excel
· Skilled in graphics tools like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Interest and experience in economic analysis preferred
· Experience with coding and data analysis preferred
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Bilingual (English and Spanish) proficiency preferred.
$65,000 - $75,000 per year
