Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cross Country Head Coach to lead our Cross Country program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in coaching, with a passion for educating and developing athletes in various sports disciplines. This role requires effective communication skills, the ability to manage behavior, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training programs that enhance athletes' skills and performance in their respective sports.
  • Conduct regular practices, ensuring that all sessions are engaging, educational, and safe.
  • Monitor athletes' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among athletes.
  • Manage behavior during practices and competitions, addressing any issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and staff to create a cohesive sports program.
  • Organize competitions and events, ensuring all logistics are handled efficiently.
  • Educate athletes on the importance of physical fitness, nutrition, and injury prevention.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all participants by adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sports coaching, particularly in Cross Country is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of teaching physical education principles.
  • Experience in behavior management techniques to effectively guide young athletes.
  • Background in childcare or youth development is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire athletes of all ages.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • A passion for teaching and educating young individuals about the values of sportsmanship and teamwork.

This is a safety sensitive position requiring a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
