Northern Maine Skin Cancer Center is a Bangor-based outpatient dermatology practice dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance of skin cancers in a welcoming, patient-centered setting that emphasizes clear communication at every step. We have three providers and a tight-knit team of hard-working individuals.

The Medical Assistant supports a busy weekday outpatient dermatology clinic focused on skin cancer detection, surveillance, and treatment—including biopsies, excisions, and Mohs. Responsibilities include rooming patients, verifying medications and allergies, taking vitals, and gathering focused dermatologic histories; preparing rooms and instruments; assisting with shave and punch biopsies, ED&C, excisions, and Mohs stages; labeling and logging pathology specimens with accurate requisitions; capturing standardized clinical and dermoscopic photos; documenting in the EHR and scribing as needed; delivering clear wound-care and sun-safety instructions; triaging routine post-op questions; cleaning and turning rooms; processing instruments and documenting autoclave cycles; restocking supplies; and tracking results to coordinate follow-ups and treatment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED. Previous MA experience is preferred.
