Role and Responsibilities
As a Paraoptometric Technician, you will:
- Assist optometrists in performing preliminary eye exams and diagnostic testing using advanced equipment.
- Collect and document detailed patient histories, including medical and ocular conditions.
- Educate patients on eye health, optical options, and follow-up care recommendations.
- Conduct pre-testing procedures such as visual acuity tests, refractions, and intraocular pressure measurements.
- Support the maintenance and organization of clinical areas, ensuring smooth and efficient patient workflow.
- Handle administrative duties, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information.
Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Prior experience in healthcare or optical services is preferred but not required.

Certification: Willingness to complete CPO certification after six months of hire.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide exceptional patient care.
- Attention to detail in documenting patient records accurately.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and familiarity with electronic health records is a plus.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology and procedures.
- Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Interest in advancing knowledge and skills in optometry through continuing education and certification.
What We Offer

Pay Range: $17-22 per hour, depending on experience.

Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 45-minute lunch break, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
