Role and Responsibilities

As a Paraoptometric Technician, you will:


  • Assist optometrists in performing preliminary eye exams and diagnostic testing using advanced equipment.
  • Collect and document detailed patient histories, including medical and ocular conditions.
  • Educate patients on eye health, optical options, and follow-up care recommendations.
  • Conduct pre-testing procedures such as visual acuity tests, refractions, and intraocular pressure measurements.
  • Support the maintenance and organization of clinical areas, ensuring smooth and efficient patient workflow.
  • Handle administrative duties, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior experience in healthcare or optical services is preferred but not required.
  • Certification: Willingness to complete CPO certification after six months of hire.
  • Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Attention to detail in documenting patient records accurately.
  • Proficiency in basic computer operations and familiarity with electronic health records is a plus.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.

Desired Skills

What We Offer

  • Pay Range: $17-22 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 45-minute lunch break, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
