Job Summary

Core Responsibilities

Interior Designers at NOR Design and Construction foster new and previous customer relations that ultimately result in contract(s) for design and/or construction services.  


Core Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

·      Strong Interpersonal Skills

·      Team Player, but also highly motivated when working independently

·      Attention to detail

·      Time management skills

·      Excellent communication skills

·      Provide support to the Procurement, Project Managers, and Construction teams 

·      Meeting with clients via Zoom and in-person

·      Writing proposals and detailed contracts

·      Convert client leads to sales

·      Jobsite walk-throughs for subcontractors to bid on projects

·      Reviewing subcontractor project bids for completeness and accuracy

·      Document and gain FF&E (Furniture, Finishes, and Equipment) client approvals

·      Internal Client file reviews for approval

·      Partner with Procurement to ensure accurate orders of FF&E

·      Jobsite walk-throughs with Project Managers; be available to answer questions during construction to mitigate construction schedule delays and punch-list items.

·      Client key contact during the construction phase

·      Construction close-out and final walk-through

·      Portfolio and Marketing photos at completion of the project

·      Client thank you cards/gifts as appropriate 

·      Support with defining cost savings on projects and procedures per project, and with the company’s best practices


General Qualifications

Expectations:

·      Personal, approachable, and with excellent communication skills. 

o   Keeps calm, cool, concise communication, both verbal and written

o   Can effectively communicate in person with clients and is proficient with group phone text and emails

·      Reliable transportation

·      Clean driving record with proof of insurance

·      Able to pass required pre-employment screenings, including criminal background, MVR, and drug screenings

·      Personal laptop computer (Mac or PC) able to run Chief Architect Pro

·      Must live within 30 miles radius of Seattle 


Preferred Skills/Experience

·      Former Interior Design Education

·      5+ years of Interior Design, residential-related experience

·      5+ years of proven successful track record in sales

·      Chief Architect Pro Preferred but not required

·      Microsoft Office Products: Office, Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint

·      Ability to demonstrate understanding of typical modern construction methods and current construction code requirements (portfolio)

·      Ability to create minimal construction documents and key details for the Construction team and for permitting.

·      Understanding code requirements for ADA, sustainability, and Puget Sound Air Quality

·      Willingness to learn other project planning apps or software



Compensation/Benefits

·      Interior Designers at NOR Design receive compensation based on various project phases and performance, including: 

o   Fixed lump sum from PSA’s (Professional Service Agreements)

o   Escalating commission percentage for Construction Services based on:

o   Discretionary performance-based bonuses

o   Hourly rate if directly supporting Owners’ Clients

·      Additional Benefits Include:

o   Choice of a company phone and cell service or reimbursement for using a personal phone, as long as the personal phone meets minimal requirements.

Salary

$50,000 - $200,000 per year
