Lena Rose is the spa where the person in the chair matters more than the service on the menu. We are a W-2, non-tipping, clean-beauty spa and shop with two homes, Lincoln Square in Chicago and downtown Naperville. We carry 500+ vetted products from small brands and make our own House Line by hand from Illinois-grown ingredients. Our team members are Roses and our clients are Lena Loves.

What this job actually is

This is a working manager role, and "working" means a lot. You will do a full book of services AND run the location at the same time, on the same day. A typical Saturday: a full book of services, the front desk and Booker flow, a call-out to cover, a client concern to handle with grace, the drawer to close, and a clear recap to the Spa Director before you leave. If that sounds like a lot, it is. It is also the job, and we would rather you know now than in two weeks.

You report to our Spa Director and you are the senior leader on site in Naperville.

What you'll own

• Lead the Roses: day-to-day leadership, scheduling, call-out coverage, weekly check-ins, 30/60/90-day reviews, and the hard conversations when performance or conduct needs correcting.

• Run the location: opening to close, sanitation standards, inventory and reordering, cash handling and deposits, Booker, and a daily recap to the Spa Director.

• Deliver on the floor: services as a licensed nail technician, esthetician or cosmetologist, to the Lena Rose standard, with hospitality that makes every Lena Love feel cared for.

• Own the numbers: daily and weekly sales, retail attachment, rebooking and labor, and growth in the location's sales targets, the same targets your commission is built on.

• Grow the community: local partnerships, networking and community events, Lena Rose Membership (Opal and Jade), and a client book of people who actually live in Naperville.

Non-negotiables

• A current Illinois Nail Technician, Esthetician or Cosmetology license. Bring it to the interview.

• At least three years of real management experience: you have built schedules, covered call-outs, run reviews, corrected performance and had hard conversations, as the person in charge, not as the backup.

• Available Wednesday through Sunday, including every weekend.

• A master scheduler who is detail-oriented, dependable and calm under pressure.

• A policy-upholder who enforces the handbook fairly, even when it's uncomfortable.

• Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to both our Naperville and Chicago (Lincoln Square) spas for training and meetings, plus local travel for events.

• A true believer in the Lena Rose mission who understands the company comes first.

This role is not a fit if

• You have fewer than three years of experience managing people day to day.

• You only want to do services, or you only want to manage. This job is both.

• A full book and a full floor on the same day sounds like more than you want.

• You avoid difficult conversations or struggle to hold people accountable.

• You see this as clock-in, clock-out rather than true ownership.

4) A paid half-day working interview at our Naperville spa: services on the book while running the floor, alongside the Spa Director.

• $50,000–$60,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus tiered commission on store performance that grows as Naperville grows.

Physical requirements

This is a hands-on, on-the-floor role. You should be able to stand and move for most of a shift; bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 40 lbs to deliver services and reset rooms; and have the manual dexterity to use all tools and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
