Newman Early Learning Center is looking for compassionate and enthusiastic Assistant Teachers to join our growing team. We have multiple part-time and full-time positions available in our Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Prekindergarten, and Kindergarten classrooms. As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment for children. While experience is preferred, we are happy to provide training for motivated individuals with a passion for working with children.

This position is expected to start in early 2025.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Lead Teacher: Assist in planning and implementing daily activities that promote children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Supervise Children: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, providing attentive care and positive guidance.
  • Classroom Environment: Help create and maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming classroom space that fosters learning and creativity.
  • Engage with Children: Interact with children through play, learning activities, and one-on-one attention, supporting their growth and development.
  • Communicate with Parents: Assist with maintaining open communication with parents/guardians about their child’s progress and daily activities.
  • Collaborate with Team: Work closely with the Lead Teacher and other staff members to create a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Support Classroom Management: Help implement positive behavior strategies and assist with the management of classroom routines.


Qualifications:

  • Be at least 16 years of age.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting is preferred, but we are willing to train individuals with a passion for early childhood education.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A love for working with children and a commitment to their well-being and growth.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Salary
