Job Overview:

The Youth Ministry Coordinator supports the Discipleship/Student Ministry by coordinating weekly programming, special events, volunteers, and ministry preparation for students in 6th through 12th grade.


This role exists to help ensure that New Life Church provides a safe, welcoming, and spiritually nurturing environment where students and families can grow in their understanding of God’s Word, build meaningful relationships, and experience the love of Christ.


The Coordinator primarily serves in a coordination and support role, organizing volunteers, preparing curriculum and ministry environments, maintaining safety procedures, and communicating clearly with students, parents, and ministry leaders. The position works closely with pastoral leadership to ensure that the youth ministry reflects the mission and values of New Life Church while operating with clarity, consistency, and care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate weekly programming and communication for youth ministry gatherings, including midweek student gathering and Sunday morning ministry responsibilities.
  • Help plan, prepare, and organize teaching materials, discussion guides, supplies, and ministry environments for students in grades 6th–12th.
  • Coordinate scheduling and communication for youth ministry volunteers serving in teaching, small group, hospitality, safety, and support roles.
  • Foster a welcoming, relational, and spiritually encouraging environment for students and their families.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with parents regarding ministry schedules, events, expectations, and important updates.
  • Maintain and support youth ministry safety procedures and volunteer compliance with church policies.
  • Assist with onboarding, orienting, and encouraging new youth ministry volunteers.
  • Support the spiritual formation and discipleship emphasis of the ministry by helping ensure gatherings are organized, thoughtful, and aligned with the mission and values of New Life Church.
  • Help steward the youth ministry budget in collaboration with church leadership.
  • Support occasional youth events, camps, service opportunities, fellowship gatherings, and family-connected programming throughout the year.


Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and relationally with students, parents, volunteers, and church leadership using multiple mediums (text, social media, email, phone etc.).
  • Demonstrates reliability, initiative, flexibility, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to help create a healthy, safe, and welcoming ministry culture for middle school and high school students.
  • Ability to recruit, organize, and support volunteers with clarity and encouragement.
  • Demonstrates maturity, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and care.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment under pastoral leadership.
  • Alignment with the mission, vision, and theological posture of New Life Church.

This position includes preparation and program time during the week, in-person participation in Sunday ministry responsibilities, and engagement in program planning and volunteer coordination.


Salary

$15,000 - $18,000 per year
