We are looking for a motivated Testing Intern to support verification, validation, and system testing activities for our medical imaging software and hardware platform. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, hands-on, curious about system behavior, and interested in finding and reproducing issues systematically. This internship has the potential to convert into a full-time engineering position based on performance, contribution, and company needs.
● Support software and system testing for imaging workflow, including video capture, image processing, reconstruction, and UI functionality.
● Execute test cases and document test results clearly and systematically.
● Help reproduce, investigate, isolate, and document software bugs or unexpected system behavior.
● Intentionally stress and challenge the system under edge cases, unusual workflows, and failure conditions to improve robustness.
● Support lab testing with phantoms, imaging setup, and data collection.
● Organize test data, logs, screenshots, videos, and generated reconstruction files.
● Assist in creating and maintaining test protocols, test reports, and traceability records.
● Work with engineering team members to improve test coverage, system stability, and product quality.
● Pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
● Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow structured procedures.
● Curious and investigative mindset with interest in understanding how and why systems fail.
● Comfortable testing edge cases and attempting to reproduce intermittent or difficult-to-find issues.
● Ability to think systematically and document reproducible steps clearly.
● Comfortable working with hardware/software systems in a lab environment.
● Good written communication skills for documenting test results and issues.
● Experience with Python, medical imaging, image processing, Jira, GitHub, or test automation is a plus.
● Familiarity with medical imaging, X-ray/C-arm systems, CT, fluoroscopy, or 3D reconstruction.
● Experience writing or executing test cases.
● Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, or reproducing software issues.
● Experience with Python scripting for data analysis or automation.
● Interest in medical device quality systems, verification and validation, or FDA-regulated product development.
● Medical device software and system testing practices.
● Verification and validation processes for FDA-regulated products.
● Imaging workflow from data acquisition to reconstruction and visualization.
● Practical engineering documentation, bug tracking, and test reporting.
● Cross-functional collaboration in an early-stage medical device startup environment.
