Nautilus is a small interdisciplinary team structured to facilitate the rapid experimental development of novel integrated systems. Nautilus team members all demonstrate high levels of technical leadership and personal autonomy. The ideal candidate for this position has experience working both independently and as a member of a fast-moving, high-performing team.


Nautilus is seeking a Business Operations Manager to develop, implement, and run business operations in an ambitious and highly technical research and advanced manufacturing company. The role includes responsibilities for procurement, business facilities, events, and human resources.


This position requires US Citizenship.


 

Job Responsibilities:


Daily Operations Management

  • Oversee day to day internal operations including office management, non-IT procurement, and HR support
  • Coordinate visitors for tours, events, and onsite services
  • Plan and coordinate internal and external events, ensuring facilities and teams are prepared, including but not limited to customer visits, community parties, internal all-hands meetings, and other team events
  • Maintain supplies and organization in all common areas including conference rooms, kitchen and office supplies
  • Manage purchase orders, invoices, and payment workflows
  • Source, manage, and negotiate with vendors for facilities, supplies, general goods, and services
  • Handle mail and package logistics for inbound and outbound items
  • Support Nautilus’ Officers with recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, and employee record management


Data Insights and Communication

  • Improve and manage internal non-project communication
  • Develop and maintain operations and performance data


Operational Excellence

  • Assess, design, and implement improved processes that reduce manual work and increase clarity
  • Introduce tools and automations that streamline operations and empower teams to self‑serve
  • Build up process and training documentation to enable smooth operation and continued growth
  • Provide training and change management support to empower team members to use developed tools and systems to streamline operations


Preferred Skills and Experience: 


  • 3 or more years of experience with two or more of the above responsibilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong process design and optimization skills with the ability to simplify and streamline workflows.
  • Prefer experience and understanding of similar commercial environments including growing advanced manufacturing and advanced research companies in industries with integrated physical and digital products
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Proficient using data to assess and communicate options to leadership
  • Excellent organizational, project coordination, and documentation abilities across multiple teams
  • Ability to take initiative, solve problems, work independently, and self-motivate to enable daily operations and meet project milestones in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work individually and on small teams pursuing ambitious technical development goals

Salary

$80,000 - $110,000 per year
