Position Overview

The Grounds Maintenance Crew Member is a hands-on landscaping position assisting with year-round residential and commercial landscape maintenance services across the Triangle.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist the Crew Leader and train on all aspects of grounds maintenance
• Mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, and bed weeding on residential and commercial routes
• Digging, planting, raking, watering, and general clean-up of landscapes
• Hedge trimming and seasonal leaf and debris cleanup
• Load and unload equipment and planting materials from trucks and trailers
• Ensure collection and inventory of company-owned equipment and tools daily
• Assist with enhancement and installation projects as needed
• Maintain reliable transportation to and from the shop
• Ensure the safe operation and basic routine maintenance of the following equipment:Mowers: Push, walk-behind, and ride-on mowers
• Turf Equipment: Tillers, aerators, and seeders
• Power Tools: Edgers, string trimmers, chainsaws, backpack blowers, sprayers
• Hand Tools: Shovels, picks, rakes, and pruning tools

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
• Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work around environmental risks such as bees, poison ivy, pollen, and thorns
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must wear sturdy shoes, company-issued uniforms, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Must present oneself in a professional and polite manner to clients and the public
• Must practice strict safety protocols when handling chemicals and operating equipment
• Must wear provided eye and ear protection as required
• Valid NC driver's license with a clean driving record preferred
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Must comply with all Nature First Landscaping policies and procedures
