Position Overview
The Grounds Maintenance Crew Member is a hands-on landscaping position assisting with year-round residential and commercial landscape maintenance services across the Triangle.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the Crew Leader and train on all aspects of grounds maintenance
- Mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, and bed weeding on residential and commercial routes
- Digging, planting, raking, watering, and general clean-up of landscapes
- Hedge trimming and seasonal leaf and debris cleanup
- Load and unload equipment and planting materials from trucks and trailers
- Ensure collection and inventory of company-owned equipment and tools daily
- Assist with enhancement and installation projects as needed
- Maintain reliable transportation to and from the shop
- Ensure the safe operation and basic routine maintenance of the following equipment:Mowers: Push, walk-behind, and ride-on mowers
- Turf Equipment: Tillers, aerators, and seeders
- Power Tools: Edgers, string trimmers, chainsaws, backpack blowers, sprayers
- Hand Tools: Shovels, picks, rakes, and pruning tools

Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
- Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work around environmental risks such as bees, poison ivy, pollen, and thorns
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must wear sturdy shoes, company-issued uniforms, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Must present oneself in a professional and polite manner to clients and the public
- Must practice strict safety protocols when handling chemicals and operating equipment
- Must wear provided eye and ear protection as required
- Valid NC driver's license with a clean driving record preferred
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Must comply with all Nature First Landscaping policies and procedures
