Summary:
The Natura Resources team is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer – Systems Integration to lead mechanical, thermal, and modular system development across our desalination and balance-of-plant (BOP) programs. The role will focus on engineering integration, manufacturability, and contract-driven execution of large-scale modular energy systems.
This is a hands-on technical leadership position suited to candidates with experience managing EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) interfaces, modular fabrication, and system-level thermal design.
Location: Abilene, TX or Dallas, TX with travel throughout the U.S.

Basic Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical and thermal integration for desalination and BOP systems (cooling, water, and power).
- Support design of modular, scalable desalination packages with standardized interfaces.
- Contribute to internal engineering standards and long-term design architecture.
- Optimize modularization to increase manufacturability and reduce field construction costs.
- Initiate pre-FEED and FEED design work; develop bid packages for EPC and engineering consultants.
- Manage engineering deliverables through clearly defined scopes of work, performance metrics, and earned-value progress tracking.
- Review and approve drawings, specifications, and construction packages; provide technical feedback to EPC partners.
- Drive accountability and alignment between owner and EPC through contract and risk management principles.
- Collaborate with project management, process, and controls teams to ensure integrated delivery of mechanical systems.
- Contribute technical insights to client-facing proposals for industrial and data-center applications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng. or PE) preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical systems integration, modular fabrication, and EPC management.
- Demonstrated ability to write and manage scopes of work, evaluate unit-rate vs. reimbursable contracts, and implement performance-based progress tracking.
- Strong understanding of risk allocation and incentives in EPC and modular project delivery.
- Experience with desalination, thermal power, or nuclear balance-of-plant systems preferred.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
