About the Role

Civic Debate Academy is hiring a virtual speech coach for an online private school. This coach will teach two classes a week, Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:00 PM CT, and will prepare students to compete in Original Oratory and Informative Speaking. The coach will work closely with the debate coach operating on Tuesday & Thursday, as well as coordinating with the head debate coach of the school.

Speech Coaches at Civic Debate Academy bring debate to life for students at every stage of their journey. Coaches lead weekly classes, develop curriculum, provide written homework feedback, and complete student evaluations. Each class is capped at 8 students.

Requirements

• Able to teach virtually consistently from 3:30 - 5:00 PM CT
• Coaching, teaching, or mentoring experience in an educational setting
• Experience in Informative Speaking and Original Oratory

Preferred (Not Required)

• Undergraduate degree in a related field, such as education
• Consistent weekend availability
• Comfort working with beginner students
• Competitive success in Public Forum Debate
