The NNP Dietitian provides medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling to clients using a non-diet, weight inclusive approach. This position has the opportunity to be either fully virtual, or hybrid with in-person nutrition counseling at our Nashville office.

Nashville Nutrition Partners is a group practice of dietitians who provide telehealth or in person nutrition counseling for many conditions and specialties. We are based in Nashville, TN, but our team is spread across several states, and we see clients nationwide.

Description

The NNP Dietitian provides medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling to clients using a non-diet, weight inclusive approach. As the client’s lead nutrition advocate, they collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare team members for the purpose of providing the best care experience. NNP Dietitians maintain their expertise in nutrition by staying up to date with the latest nutritional research, intensely listening to and learning from their clients’ lived experiences, and leaning on the knowledge and wisdom of respected colleagues. 


The NNP Dietitian is a team-player who thrives in a team environment. They regularly engage fellow NNP Team Members, actively participate in online team discussions, and provide feedback and support when needed. The NNP Dietitian recognizes their role in building and maintaining a strong company culture. They have the ability to be flexible to the daily changing needs of a young company and to handle obstacles with compassion and resolve.


This position is listed as part-time but has the ability to be full-time, given interest and NNP ability.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

  • Provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling to clients using a non-diet, weight inclusive approach.
  • Provide a minimum of 15 client-facing hours weekly.
  • Use sound judgment and critical thinking when making client assessments and providing counseling to clients.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams and clients in a timely and effective way.
  • Act as a role model by displaying enthusiasm, positive problem solving and a commitment to help both NNP Team Members and the organization reach established goals.
  • Contribute to marketing, community outreach, and consulting assignments as needed.
  • Keep open, frequent communication with all members of the NNP team and participate in team meetings.
  • Engage in and invest time and resources to ongoing professional learning, networking, and growth.
  • Performs other related duties and special projects as required.
  • Preference: provide in-person MNT once a week in our Nashville office
  • Have fun! This work is serious, but there is a lot of fun and enjoyment to be had or we’ll all burn out.


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

The ideal applicant has a basic working knowledge of the following:

  • Nutrition counseling skills in line with NNP Core Values (weight-inclusive and non-diet philosophies and principles, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
  • Ethics of the dietetics profession
  • Experience seeing eating disorder clients
  • Team player outlook
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve in challenging and complex situations

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • 2-3 years' experience as a dietitian, experience with one-on-one counseling preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Computer proficiency and intermediate to advanced skills using G Suite (Gmail, google drive, google calendar, etc.)
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to clients’ needs, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and maturity
  • Able to take initiative without direct supervision
  • Empathetic, compassionate, and patient
  • Self-aware so you’re able to learn, grow and take care of yourself

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: 

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist in Tennessee, or willing to become licensed

Salary

$45 - $55 per hour
