Salon Manager
Position Overview
The NappStar Salon Manager is responsible for the successful daily operation of the salon. This role provides hands-on leadership, oversees all operational functions, and ensures the salon consistently meets NappStar’s brand, service, and quality standards. The Salon Manager is accountable for hiring and developing top talent, maintaining a positive and professional work environment, managing the salon floor, and driving business performance.
This position requires active involvement in daily operations and servicing clients as needed to support the success of the business.

- Physical requirements of this position include: standing / walking for sustained periods of time, lifting up to 10 pounds / continuous repetitive movement with fingers, hands, wrists and arms, and continuous grasping and reaching / Continually required to bend, stoop, and talk

Core Responsibilities
- Hire, train, lead, and retain high-performing team members across all roles
- Create, enforce, and model a positive, professional work environment
- Serve as the leader and final authority for all salon staff
- Lead daily huddles and ensure timely communication
- Enforce accountability through coaching, documentation, and corrective action
Job Duties
- Ensure all team members consistently follow NappStar service, behavior, and appearance standards
- Enforce uniform, hair, and nail standards
- Submit and enforce Incident Reports when standards are not met
- Ensure stylists only use NappStar-approved products unless client-provided and management-approved
- Maintain salon floor standards at all times
- Open and close the salon on time
- Lead huddles promptly
- Complete Incident Reports on the same day as the incident and communicate with team members
- Respond to management emails in a timely manner
- Make daily or scheduled cash deposits
- Assign and post closing duties in the breakroom
- Upload forms, documents, and updates on communication platforms
- Respond to Google reviews and client feedback
- Assist and resolve escalated client issues via phone, email, or social media on the same day
- Oversee employee supply usage and product removal
- Conduct monthly inventory counts and place orders
- Prevent loss and theft of company equipment and products
- Approve PTO and unpaid time off requests
- Post monthly team schedules
- Manage coverage when team members call out
- Submit bi-weekly payroll
- Facilitate interviews for all salon positions
- Oversee onboarding and ensure all Gusto requirements (including I-9) are completed
- Train new hires on job responsibilities and expectations
- Lead skill tests and shadowing for stylists, assistants, and management candidates
- Lead all training programs for new and assistant team members
- Document and submit Incident Reports and write-ups
- Schedule and lead team meetings
- Assist team members by providing them with hair services
- Perform consultations
- Support front desk and stylists with complex or difficult client situations
- Document client issues and resolutions
- Ensure the salon is staffed adequate for client services
- Contact clients directly or direct front desk staff to adjust appointments
- Ensure contract forms are being submitted
