NAMI Solano County Filipino Outreach Coordinator Fairfield, CA · Part time

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Solano County is seeking a PART TIME dedicated and proactive Outreach Coordinator to the Filipino Community. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will work 10 – 16 hours per week at the grassroots level to reach our local Filipino mental health community. This person must be able to anticipate community needs, discern priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends. This person will assist NAMI to grow our members, community partnerships and reach the populations of Solano County affected by mental illness.


Brief Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Community Relations:

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community-based mental health organizations and cross-market to share about NAMI within the Filipino community
  • Identify and develop new relationships for NAMI Solano County services and programs like public libraries (e.g. Vallejo, Fairfield), medical centers (e.g., La Clinica, Kaiser and Sutter) with emphasis on those who serve the Filipino community 
  • Identify & propose outreach events to participate in and then coordinate marketing (tables/materials), coverage by staff and volunteers (e.g., Community Fairs, etc.)

 Outreach Coordination:

  • Identify, interview, and educate potential outreach volunteers 
  • Support the Program Manager by partnering and referring possible program leaders especially those with Tagalog language skills
  • Collectively with other Outreach coordinators and the Program Manager, create and manage a quarterly calendar of outreach events

Programming and Memberships:

  • Identify community needs for our programs and services
  • Works hand in hand with other Outreach coordinators and our Program Manager to improve our reach into the community for our Signature Programs
  • Work to increase NAMI Solano County Membership

  • Experience working with people in potentially sensitive matters within the Filipino Community (Tagalog language skills preferred)
  • Ability to prioritize and manage numerous priorities at once and ability to work as a team
  • Able to work in a hybrid work arrangement with both remote and on-site requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be 18 years old +


  • Knowledge of mental health experience and services  
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Zoom
  • Knowledge of Solano County area resources, venues, and community partners is preferred
  • Customer Service, Sales or Community roles which demonstrate required qualifications, preferred, or equivalent experience


$25 - $27 per hour
