Introduction

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Southern Nevada is part of the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization. We are one of four affiliates in our state and one of over 650 affiliates across the country. Our mission is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with mental health conditions (peers) and their families through support, education, and advocacy. We provide support groups, education classes, presentations and training to families and peers impacted by mental health conditions at no cost to the community. Our programs are led by families and peers with lived experience working to empower others in their recovery journey.


Position Summary


The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring assigned programs operate effectively, consistently, and in alignment with organizational standards and funding requirements. This role bridges strategy and execution by translating programmatic priorities into high quality delivery, using data and qualitative feedback to drive continuous improvement. Through operational oversight, staff support, and accountability for program performance, the Program Manager strengthens program outcomes while supporting compliance, reporting, and sustainable growth.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities


Program Management and Quality

  • Oversee assigned programs to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with organizational standards
  • Monitor program performance and address operational risks or gaps
  • Establish program level workflows and expectations in alignment with approved policies
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using data and qualitative feedback
  • Recommend and implement program improvements in collaboration with the Program Director
  • Ensure programs meet scope, timeline, and quality expectations tied to funding requirements

Data Management and Analysis

  • Ensure accurate and timely collection and submission of program data.
  • Review program data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Analyze program level trends to assess outcomes and inform decision making.
  • Translate data and feedback into actionable insights and improvement plans.
  • Prepare program level summaries to support reporting, planning, and grant requirements.

Grant and Deliverables Support

  • Oversee program level deliverables tied to funding sources.
  • Monitor progress toward grant requirements and timelines.
  • Contribute narrative content, outcome summaries, and documentation for grant proposals and reports.
  • Identify risks related to deliverables and escalate issues to the Program Director.
  • Ensure program activities remain aligned with approved scopes of work.

Policies, Procedures, and Systems

  • Ensure consistent implementation of approved program policies and procedures.
  • Ensure operational workflows are followed within assigned programs.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies or breakdowns within programs.
  • Recommend updates to workflows, tools, or systems based on program needs.
  • Support operational consistency across assigned programs.
  • Identify process gaps or inefficiencies and propose corrective actions.
  • Ensure staff and volunteers understand and follow established standards.
  • Actively focus on quality assurance and quality improvement to improve operational efficiency and productivity to effectively deliver services to internal staff, participants, and the communities we serve.

Materials and Program Infrastructure

  • Ensure program materials, forms, and documentation are accurate and current.
  • Approve routine updates to program tools and resources.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align materials with program standards.
  • Ensure programs have the infrastructure needed to operate effectively.
  • Maintain office equipment and systems, including office files and databases.

Feedback and Improvement Support

  • Collect qualitative feedback from participants and facilitators.
  • Summarize observations and themes for review.
  • Assist with implementation of approved program improvements.

Supervision and Collaboration

  • Supervise NAMI team members as assigned.
  • Set expectations, monitor performance, and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Support staff development and address performance concerns in partnership with the Program Director.
  • Collaborate across teams to support alignment and shared priorities.
  • Ensure staff and teams have proper resources, tools, and information to perform their duties.


Other Duties

  • Demonstrates a level of knowledge and skills within a specific activity to consistently meet or exceed service requirements.
  • Reports any activities that may violate established laws, regulations, policies, or procedures. 
  • Raise questions about any actions contrary to law or policy taken by another staff member or employee or yourself, and report the matter to the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Accountability

The Program Manager is accountable for program performance, data quality, compliance with standards, and continuous improvement within assigned programs.

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional experience in nonprofit work.
  • Excellent skills and experience with Google Workspace.
  • Experience with CRM software such as Bloomerang.
  • Proficiency in Monday.com, Jotform, Slack, Constant Contact, Canva, Eventbrite and Zoom.
  • Experience with grant writing, reporting, and managing grant deliverables.
  • Experience with project management, including planning, tracking, and executing multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility to work outside of traditional business hours when necessary, to travel locally, and to occasionally travel regionally and nationally.
  • Experience developing and managing program budgets, financial tracking, and basic accounting processes is a plus.
  • Spanish proficiency is a plus. 
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

  • Use a telephone to communicate with people inside and outside the organization
  • Effectively communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions
  • Sit at a desk for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work sitting at a computer.
  • Apply manual dexterity, visual acuity and ability for computer keyboarding, office equipment use, reviewing detailed reports, information, and fine print


Work Environment

  • Work is performed in an office environment, in the community and remotely. Involves daily contact with individuals via video conferencing, phone, text, email and face-to-face. The position requires a flexible work schedule with the potential  to include some evening and weekend hours.

Salary

$65,000 - $85,000 per year
