Lead Technician
Department: Service Operations
Reports To: Service & Repair Coordinator
Position Summary
The Lead Technician is an experienced pool service professional who serves as a working leader in the field. This position performs high-quality pool service while supporting technicians, training team members, assisting with difficult service issues, and helping maintain company standards.
The Lead Technician is expected to lead by example and serve as a knowledgeable resource for the field team.
Key Responsibilities
Pool Service
- Complete assigned service routes accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain proper pool water chemistry and cleaning standards.
- Inspect pools and equipment for potential problems.
- Assist technicians with difficult pools or unusual service conditions.
- Perform quality-control inspections as directed.
- Ensure company service standards are followed.
Team Support & Training
- Serve as a resource for Pool Technicians.
- Train new technicians on cleaning, chemistry, equipment, and company procedures.
- Demonstrate proper techniques and safety practices.
- Provide constructive feedback.
- Communicate recurring technician issues to the Field Supervisor.
- Assist with route coverage when needed.
Equipment
- Troubleshoot common pool equipment issues.
- Identify problems involving pumps, filters, valves, heaters, chlorinators, salt systems, and automation.
- Document equipment concerns.
- Communicate repair opportunities to the Field Supervisor.
Customer Service
- Maintain professional customer relationships.
- Answer routine pool-service questions.
- Address minor service concerns when appropriate.
- Communicate unresolved issues to the Field Supervisor.
Documentation & Safety
- Review and maintain accurate service documentation.
- Ensure water readings and equipment information are properly recorded.
- Follow all chemical-handling and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle.
Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of pool service experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pool cleaning and water chemistry.
- Working knowledge of pool equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated reliability and leadership ability.

Physical Requirements
Same physical requirements as Pool Technician, including outdoor work, lifting, bending, kneeling, and safe chemical handling.

Successful Lead Technicians may advance to Field Supervisor based on technical knowledge, leadership, reliability, communication, and ability to develop other technicians.
Compensation & Benefits
Commission Based at $700 - $1,000/Week
