Mystryde Athletic Club is a Boston-based boutique fitness studio with two locations offering a variety of classes ranging from all-treadmill based run classes, to all functional strength classes, and classes that combine the two.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Front Desk Associates at MAC are responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing front desk operations, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all members and guests. This role involves handling membership inquiries, managing class schedules, ensuring that the studio is clean, and performing administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the studio.
CHARLESTOWN HOURS:
We are looking for individual(s) to help cover midday hours at the Charlestown studio. Please only apply if you can work at least 3 of the below shifts:
Monday: 9:00am-12:00pm OR 12:00pm-4:00pm
Tuesday: 9:00am-4:00pm
Wednesday: 9:00am-4:30pm
Thursday: 9:00am-12:00pm OR 12:00pm-4:00pm
Friday: 12:00pm-3:00pm
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
MAC's Front Desk Associates have a wide range of responsibilities. This role requires strategic thinking, decision making skills, ability to multitask and work with others in a fast paced environment. Here is a comprehensive list of responsibilities for this role:
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service:
- Greet and check-in members and guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Answer phone calls and respond to urgent emails promptly and courteously.
- Address client inquiries, concerns, and complaints effectively.
- Provide information about Mystryde's classes, membership options, and class schedules.
- Provide information or recommendations on for purchase retail and ON Shoes
Administrative Duties:
- Assist customers with new memberships, renewals, and cancellations as needed.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and security.
- Assist with preparing for special classes or events.
Facility Management:
- Ensure the front desk, retail area and studio rooms are clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Cleaning (vacuuming/mopping etc.) and organization required for all shifts.
- Monitor the condition of the studio and report any maintenance issues (in studio rooms, lobby, bathrooms, locker rooms etc.)
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed and check-list is fully completed.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely and provide fluid communication with the General Manager and other staff members to ensure seamless operations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving studio services and member experience.
- Read weekly updates email to understand what is happening or upcoming
- Assist with special projects and events as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a fitness or wellness environment.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office, GMAIL and Mariana Tek
- Ability to handle credit card transactions accurately.
- Basic knowledge of MAC, our classes and the benefits of our programming will be required.
