JOB TITLE: FULL TIME INSTRUCTOR + EVENTS COORDINATOR
Mystryde Athletic Club is a Boston-based boutique fitness studio with three locations (South Boston, Charlestown and Beverly) offering a variety of classes ranging from all-treadmill based run classes, to all functional strength classes, and classes that combine the two.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Mystryde is seeking a dynamic and energetic Full Time Instructor and Events Coordinator to join our team!
The ideal candidate will have a passion for fitness, excellent communication skills, the ability to motivate and inspire participants of all fitness levels and a thorough knowledge of MAC. Instructors lead a variety of group exercise classes in both the Tread room and Strength Room. Additionally, this candidate will assist in the execution of events and marketing initiatives on the North Shore.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
At MAC, Instructors are the life and energy of the studio. Instructors not only program classes and playlists, but they engage with clients and create the energy that makes group fitness fun and welcoming. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, and the ability to multitask in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fitness, excellent communication skills, the ability to motivate and inspire participants of all fitness levels and a thorough knowledge of Mystryde. Here is a comprehensive list of responsibilities for this full time role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, safe, effective and FUN group classes for participants of all levels.
- Create and implement class programs that are innovative and challenging.
- Provide modifications and progressions to accommodate all fitness levels during classes.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by monitoring class activities and providing corrective guidance.
- Maintain a positive and motivating atmosphere in the class.
- Foster a welcoming environment for everyone
- Stay current with industry trends and certifications to ensure classes are up-to-date and relevant.
- Set up and clean up equipment before and after classes.
- Be an advocate for all of MAC’s programs, events, instructors and classes.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Participate in MAC classes (2x per week)
- Must be available to teach 16 classes per week
- Evening and weekend availability required
North Shore Events & Community Engagement Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and execute community events, workshops, challenges, and member experiences
- Coordinate local partnerships with businesses, charities, schools, and community organizations
- Assist with studio promotions, grand openings, member appreciation events, and special programming
- Represent MAC at community events and networking opportunities
- Collaborate with leadership and marketing teams to increase brand awareness and member engagement
- Track event performance and recommend future opportunities for growth
Qualifications:
- Previous experience teaching group fitness classes is highly preferred.
- Certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM) is preferred, but not necessary
- Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) Certification will be required during training
- Current CPR/AED certification will be required prior to first class
- Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, kinesiology, and injury prevention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire participants.
- High energy and positive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays - required.
- Organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the North Shore region
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to participate and teach MAC classes is required
- Must be able to lift and move fitness equipment as needed.
- Must be able to lift and move marketing and event equipment (tents, boxes etc)

SCHEDULE:
Applications due by August 1st
Training Begins September 15th
- 4-week training full time training
- 3/4 days in studio
- 1/2 days at remote
