We are looking for a talented, creative, and driven test engineer to drive our environmental testing and processes, from initial concept development to full scale production. The position will own the relationship between the engineering development, supply chain interaction, production, and test teams. The role measures its success based on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and the ability to achieve delivers within expected timelines.


·      Coordinates, perform and oversees the environmental testing of products to validate design and manufacturing process.

·      Drafts proposals for testing programs for product qualification and acceptance testing and operating procedures; outlines the specific testing conditions to be applied to subassemblies and final products.

·      Tests new products: develops systems to gather and electronically store digital data during testing.

·      Studies the data gathered during testing and evaluates the validity of the results.

·      Identifies any problems with new products; makes adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve and coordinate issues and problems with engineering, production and test teams.

·      Continues testing and analysis until results are within product requirements and specifications.

·      Drafts detailed technical reports to present findings; based on findings, recommends modifications needed to correct production problems.

·      Develops ongoing quality control testing procedures to be incorporated into the regular production process. 

·      Provide and implement DFX solutions on a continuous basis throughout the lifecycle of the product line.

·      Design and implement assembly, test and automation processes and tooling for acceptance testing that supports volume manufacturing with a quality assurance mindset.

·      Continuous collaboration with the design, test and operations fostering a team-oriented mindset that supports an alignment towards organizational goals 

·      Lead prototype builds ensuring incremental milestones for the production development are met.

·      Identify tooling and test hardware requirements, design and implement into production processes.

·      Identify automation opportunities and establish requirements as well as evaluating return on investment for each.

·      Work with in-house resources or vendors as necessary to develop these solutions and implement on production line.

·      Performs other related duties as required.


Desired Skills/Experience

·      Demonstrated experience working in a highly adaptive and iterative environment.

·      Experience transitioning products from design to environmental testing and scaling to high volume as part of a cross-functional team.

·      Experience with DOE, gage R&R and process qualifications.

·      Experience defining production data requirements and SPC.

·      Demonstrated experience implementing automation into environmental testing processes.

·      Experience integrating electromechanical assemblies with both manual and automated processes.

·      Experience with NX, Solidworks and Teamcenter.

·      SQL experience

·      Experience working with and defining requirements for ERP, MRP and MES systems.

·      Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.

·      Experience in aerospace, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environments

·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss product flaws in a constructive and positive manner.

·      Excellent interpersonal skills.

·      Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

·      Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare test reports and proposals.

·      Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing or a related field

·      5+ years’ experience environmental testing

·      Ability to work independently and to reliably “get things done “, even in high-pressure situations.

·      Experience within a rapidly changing and growing environment

·      Experience with Microsoft 365/Office Suite

·      Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder)

·      Strong analytical ability to break down complex problems and data sets to derive meaningful, actionable results

·      Ability to understand Engineering and Design direction and provide focused test solutions accordingly

Physical Requirements:

·      Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·      Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

·      Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. unassisted.

·      Able to travel throughout US and to Germany for short and extended trips as needed.
