About Music for Minors

Music for Minors is a nonprofit organization with more than 50 years of experience providing high-quality music education to elementary school students throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Our mission is to nurture in children a lifelong love of music while expanding access to arts education in diverse communities. MFM partners with Bay Area schools to offer weekly in-classroom music lessons that are hands-on, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with state and national standards. Our skilled music educators incorporate singing, rhythm, movement, and instruments like recorders and percussion to ensure students receive vital music education during their early years. About half of Music for Minors' programs serve under-resourced schools, often being their only source of music instruction.
