We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Embryologist to join our dynamic team. Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Clinical Procedures:

  • Perform and oversee advanced micromanipulation techniques, including Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), laser-assisted hatching, and blastocyst/embryo biopsy for preimplantation genetic testing.
  • Conduct oocyte retrieval, identification, enzymatic denuding, and microscopic morphology assessment.
  • Manage embryo culture, micro-drop preparation, detailed quality grading, and careful selection/preparation for embryo transfer.
  • Execute ultra-rapid vitrification and warming protocols for embryos, blastocysts, and oocytes while maintaining a secure, highly organized cryo-storage inventory.
  • Enforce double-witness verification protocols for all chain-of-custody procedures to ensure zero-error specimen identification.
  • Perform core andrology procedures, including comprehensive semen analysis (per WHO guidelines), sperm preparation for IVF/ICSI/IUI, and surgical sperm retrieval processing.
  • Maintain meticulous, real-time records within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and database systems.

 

 

Laboratory Management & Compliance:

  • Oversee laboratory operations to ensure strict, daily compliance with all applicable federal and state regulatory standards (CAP, CDC, CLIA, FDA).
  • Enforce strict Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and continuous quality improvement (QI) initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot specialized equipment malfunctions (e.g., micromanipulators, gas incubators, anti-vibration tables) and perform rigorous validation of new laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with data compilation and verification for mandatory SART (Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology) and CDC outcome reporting.
  • Manage laboratory logistics, including aseptic preparation of culture media, testing reagents, and inventory supply forecasting.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Experience: 3–5 years of current, active experience serving specifically in the role of a Senior Embryologist in a high-volume fertility clinic.

·        Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Reproductive Science, Medical Technology, or a closely related life science field.

·        Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Clinical Embryology, Andrology, or Reproductive Biology.

·        Technical Skills: Proven, verifiable expertise in micromanipulation, troubleshooting, and electronic laboratory witness tracking systems.

·        Soft Skills: Exceptional manual dexterity, high attention to detail under time-sensitive constraints, and strong emotional resilience.

·        Scheduling: Flexibility to work a rotating shift schedule, including required weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage as dictated by patient treatment cycles.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Must be able to maintain prolonged periods of sitting and standing while utilizing a microscope.
  • High level of visual acuity and excellent hand-eye coordination for precision micromanipulation.
  • Comfortable working with and handling potentially hazardous and infectious biological specimens (human gametes and tissues) using strict aseptic technique.


Salary

$140,000 - $150,000 per year
