Mousetrappe is seeking a talented Motion Designer / Animator to join our team on an exciting new mapped projection experience. The artist must have a fluency and comfort animating musically driven sequences in After Effects, bringing together scenic matte paintings, particle-based effects and motion in a cohesive sequence. Candidates with comfort inside a 3D pipeline like Cinema4D or Maya is a plus, but not required. Must exhibit a strong sense of timing and musicality within existing portfolio. If you've worked on Mapped Projection projects in the past, be sure you put that work forward for consideration! The position is a remote, project-based, full time role, beginning mid-January and running for approximately 8 - 12 weeks. Candidates MUST be located in the Continental US due to technical limitations, there will be no exceptions made to this requirement. Pay range is $500 - $600/day depending on experience.

 

Requirements:   

• Located within the continental US.
• Strong eye for design and visual storytelling- able to create animation based on limited reference and concept boards that illustrate show progression.   
• Animation skills must be top notch, able to work quickly and efficiently, meeting studio deadline requirements. 
• Exhibit a sense of musicality and dynamism within past portfolio samples.
• Able to work on multiple deadlines at once.   
• Must be able to work well within a team and take direction while working independently.   
• Organized and efficient, with ability to adhere to established workflow practices.   
• Must be a conceptual thinker and bring new ideas to the table.   
• Technically proficient and able to troubleshoot basic tech/software problems as needed. 
• Highly competent in Photoshop + Illustrator + After Effects.   
• Cinema 4D, Maya, and x-particles experience a plus.   
• Work with creative teams to understand project scope and objectives and produce content that is on target and achievable.   
• A keen eye for layout and aesthetic. 
• Ability to work within style-guide constraints and adapt to the requirements of specific IP.
• Previous work in non-traditional format media (multi-screen, dome, immersive media, mapped projection, etc.) a plus.
