Fuel Kitchen at Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) is seeking a driven and team-oriented Sous Chef to join our culinary team! As our Sous Chef, you'll support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food prep, smooth kitchen flow, and consistency in execution. You'll be a key part of the kitchen leadership team—stepping up when needed and helping mentor and guide others on the line.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Prep & Cooking, Kitchen Efficiency & Teamwork, Sanitation, Safety, Inventory & Waste Management:
· Prepare and cook menu items with consistency and attention to presentation
· Support prep work (chopping, portioning, marinating, etc.)
· Lead by example during service and support line cooks and prep staff
· Maintain kitchen sanitation, safety, and equipment standards
· Help with training, mentoring, and communication among the kitchen team
· Assist with inventory tracking, minimizing waste, and proper food storage
· Step in for the Executive Chef as needed to keep things running smoothly
Qualifications & Experience:
· Prior experience as a Lead Line Cook or Kitchen Supervisor
· Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen best practices
· Ability to stay calm, organized, and efficient during busy service
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Culinary training or equivalent on-the-job experience
· A positive attitude, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to quality
Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform tasks requiring bending, reaching, and climbing.
- Must be available to work weekends and open holidays.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
