Responsible for working with billing specialist, authorization specialist, typing, filing, phone screenings and secretarial duties. Any employee in this classification interacts with patients, visitors and staff and must have positive people skills by performing the following duties.

Description

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


Greeting and checking in patients as they arrive.*


Confidentiality/HIPAA/42 CFR  Extra awareness while speaking with patients at front desk and while on phone with other patients around.


Completes Central Registry/dual enrollment communications with all OTP within a 75-mile radius.*


Directs patients for medications, toxicology screening, doctor visits and counseling appointments.*


Collects fees and prints receipts.*


Enters payments, post individual accounts daily to the computer general ledger.*


Answers telephone, takes messages as appropriate.*


Screens and schedules intake appointments.*


Opens new patient chart in Methasoft.*


Responsible for filing/uploading documents in patient charts.*


Cleans front office, lobby and hallways. Takes out office trash.*


Prepares daily deposits for the bank.*


Observes organizational safety practices.*


Completes all training requirements.*


Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.*


Turn off all coffee makers, fans, noise makers in the kitchen and front office.


Adheres to company standards of conduct as delineated on the statement of ethics signed during new employee orientation.*


Maintains a cooperative and positive attitude and approach to patients, staff and visitors.*


Maintains visitor check in book.


Complies with company attendance and tardiness policies.*


Complies with company policies relating to use of paid time off (PTO).*


Complies with company operating policies and procedures and responds to supervision.*


Responsible for performing all duties within a 40-hour week.*


Responsible for maintaining patient accounts and collections with 100% accuracy.*


Answers telephone addressing callers questions when appropriate or routing calls.*


Maintains an inventory of office supplies and orders supplies, within the approved budget.*


Performs other duties at the request of the Program Director*


Responsible for filling out medical insurance forms, verifying that an insurance policy is active before accepting an applicant into the Program, and periodically verifying that an insurance policy remains active and assists clients in filling out insurance forms, as necessary.*

Language Ability:

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps including Google Drive, and Methasoft.



Education/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Certificates and Licenses:

CPI Non Violent Crisis Intervention certificate - provided by the organization if not already obtained

Salary

$15 - $17 per hour
