The Morse Clinic of Durham is recruiting for a Part Time Dosing to join our Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) program in Durham, NC for weekday, weekend and holiday coverage. This position will be up to 25 hours a week. Weekend hours are from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM and Weekday hours are 5:45 AM to 12:45 AM preferred to support current dosing hours. Customer Service and Crisis Resolution skills are a requirement for this position.

As part of a cohesive and collaborative team of clinicians, medical staff and office personnel, the Dosing Nurse, LPN at minimum required, will be responsible for the following:

  • Receiving medical orders and ensuring that medical orders are documented and understood by patient and all staff;
  • Identifying patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients;
  • Dispensing medication;
  • Maintaining absolute accuracy in daily accounting of dispensed medication, inventory, and ensuring medication is not diverted;
  • Providing timely and accurate documentation of patients care to include medication dosage and adjustments, lab results, medical provider orders, phase/level changes and other Patient care decisions;
  • Establishing a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients;
  • Ensuring standards of care meet all requirements of the Morse Clinic of Roanoke Rapids, state board of nursing, and other governing agency regulations;
  • Maintaining safe and clean working environment;
  • Protecting patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations;
  • Maintaining continuity between nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs;
  • Maintaining patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential;
  • Ensuring operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques;
  • Maintaining a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in team problem-solving methods;

The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively utilize an Electronic Health Records system to ensure accurate clinical documentation and dispensing/dosing data.

As a Dosing Nurse, shift coverage is needed to work a schedule that will include all weekdays and occasional holidays for coverage. Weekday shifts are scheduled from 5:15 AM to 12:30 PM. Applicants must have no legal impediments to serving in a licensed opiate treatment program including being able to complete a background check and a pre-employment drug screen..

Salary

$25 - $27 per hour
