ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AT MOR STUDIO:

A senior architect at MOR Studio will be relied upon to provide full support through an entire project- from conceptual design through construction administration. They can work independently on architectural design and often will coordinate project design efforts. They will present directly to the client on technical and design solutions, work closely with the Principal Architect to execute project plans, and directly supervise the teams’ design and technical delivery. Senior architects will work closely with the Project Administrator to ensure each project’s success in relation to schedule and budget. They develop and represent the lead technical viewpoint on projects and coordinate with the Principal Architect on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies. The following is a more detailed list of key responsibilities that a senior architect will be expected to perform:


  • Researches, programs, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients, applying architectural design and construction detailing knowledge.
  • Coordinates with Principal Architect on feasibility studies, master planning, and space planning, 
  • Collaborates with the project director to understand client project requirements, with a goal of leading, overseeing and inspiring the technical team.
  • Act as the main liaison for clients, nurturing strong relationships and effectively communicating project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
  • Produces conceptual plans and designs.
  • Photographs, measures and assesses existing buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of construction drawings and construction administration coordination with the ability to make on-site visits, produce field reports, review submittals and answer RFIs during construction.
  • Plans and programs layout of project(s); coordinates and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
  • Produces and redlines construction documents in Revit.
  • Coordinates AHJ submittals.
  • Stays up to date on industry trends, building codes, accessibility and AHJ requirements.
  • Coordinates with Project Administrator on project timelines, tasks and budgets.
  • Conducts quality assurance checks on all architectural drawings and submittals.
  • Coordinates with subconsultants through all phases of the project, including drawing reviews to ensure quality, completeness and consistency with client requirements.
  • Assists in research and coordination of materials and products for project specifications.
  • May assist in identifying new project opportunities, business development, business management tasks, and marketing as required.
  • Helps to develop workflow improvements through BIM standards or file management.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture
  • Registered Architect Preferred
  • 10+ years of commercial architectural experience
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in time management
  • Ability to QA/QC projects
  • Ability to clearly communicate with external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of our primary software
  • Required: Revit
  • Preferred: SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, AutoCAD, Bluebeam
  • Proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Powerpoint)
  • Basic knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED Guidelines


JOB BENEFITS:

  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 (Dependent upon experience)
