The Momentum Network is a Christian-led nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering pregnant students and single mothers to persist to completion in higher education. Description

NOTE: Stipend for Open Position is covered by Specific grant that affords experience to Youth between the Ages of 18-24 who are TN residents.

Little Scholars - Night Owl Children's Program

Intern position available

  • 4-6 hours week, ideally having capacity to add another night of care (or share duties)
  • Must be available on Thursdays from 4:30-8:30pm

About Us

We are located downtown near UTC & Erlanger Hospital. In order to achieve our mission of helping single moms stay on track to achieve their dreams, we partner to provide a quality early learning experience for children of our leadership development program & occasionally members of our village.

About You

You have a heart to care for kids and like to have fun at work. 

  • You're at least 18
  • Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or HiSet equivalent
  • Pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education and experience working in childcare is a plus. 

Kids program assistant plans for & works meeting nights at The MOMentum Network. You care for the kids by guiding a team of volunteers, under the leadership of the Kids program manager. Meeting nights are currently Thursday nights 4:30-8:30pm.

  • Duties Include:
  • Oversees volunteer teachers in a class
  • Helps with volunteer paperwork  
  • Meal prep & planning 
  • Set up signs & possibly help engagement intern with other tasks 
  • Fill in for managing teacher when needed, including curriculum planning &/or teaching*
  • In charge of cleaning up after meeting 
  • Recruiting other kids team members
  • Notes growth and opportunities with kiddos. 
  • Works with PM to complete kids sheets
  • Other duties as assigned/needed.

*As a faith-based program, we offer Christian activities at least once a month. Must be comfortable planning and leading lessons teaching kids about Jesus Christ in alignment with TMN beliefs.

Salary

$12 - $13 per hour
