Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Coordination of Transportation 

  • Schedule and dispatch Drivers to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests or immediate needs. 
  • Communicate ride details and updates to Drivers and clients. 
  • Monitor real-time traffic conditions and driving obstacles (e.g. construction, road closures, events) and communicate information to Drivers 
  • Track the location of Drivers for efficiency and safety purposes. 
  • Work with Director of Operations to ensure Modus vehicles are under covered parking on evenings expecting bad weather. 

Customer Service 

  • Provide courteous and professional assistance with incoming communications (phone calls, emails, text messages, etc.), from clients and drivers. 

Data Management & Record Retention 

  • Enroll new riders submitted by partner agencies into the Modus system, ensuring accurate and complete intake information. 
  • Process fuel receipts, logging them in OneDrive. 

Miscellaneous 

  • Ensure all Modus vehicles are parked every evening and their keys are returned.

  • Contribute to office cleanliness and organization as needed (e.g., light vacuuming, tidying common areas) to ensure a welcoming environment for the following business day

  • Lock office building if last person in office. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred) 
  • Must pass a background check. 
  • Proven experience working as a dispatcher and in the transportation/logistics fields is preferred. 

PREFERRED SKILLS 

  • Strong coordination, communication, and phone and computer technology skills. 
  • Previous experience as a dispatcher or in a relevant position. 
  • Tech-savvy with knowledge of relevant methods and fast typing/data entry skills. 
  • Familiarity with emergency procedures and guidelines. 
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong clerical and organizational skills for managing schedules, routes, and personnel. 
  • Proficiency in using computers for scheduling and dispatching duties. 
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under stress. 
  • Effective communication and customer service skills. 
  • Rapid and accurate data entry. 
  • Ability to schedule and follow through with callers.

Salary

$20 - $20 per hour
