Position Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated Catering Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in catering, a passion for food, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As the Catering Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in planning and executing menus for catering events.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards.
- Manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Monitor food inventory, order supplies, and manage food costs to meet budgetary goals.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Collaborate with the events team to ensure seamless service and client satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen workspace.
- Assist in developing new recipes and menu items based on current trends and customer feedback.
- Work off site events as event chef for grilling, carving, etc.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a catering environment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
