We’re looking for a skilled Electric Bike Mechanic to join our Garage / Service team in Austin, TX. This role is hands-on and critical to keeping our customers’ bikes safe, reliable, and fun to ride. You’ll work closely with our Service/Garage Manager and collaborate with sales and support teams to ensure every MOD BIKE meets our high standards for quality and performance.

Description
Technical Service & Bike Assembly
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electric bikes, including tune-ups, drivetrain and brake adjustments, and troubleshooting.
- Assemble and tune new e-bikes to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Conduct safety checks, inspections, and diagnostics on incoming bikes.
- Maintain the MOD demo fleet so bikes are always ride-ready.
- Assist with bike packing and shipping as needed.
Shop Collaboration
- Support the sales team with test ride prep and light bike adjustments.
- Maintain a clean, organized workshop and ensure tools/equipment are properly cared for.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of drivetrain and brake systems (mechanical & hydraulic).
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety/quality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift and maneuver e-bikes (up to 75 lbs).
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Basic computer skills and comfort with tools like Shopify, Slack, or Freshdesk a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience as a bike mechanic (e-bike experience a plus).
- Experience with e-bike systems such as Shimano, Bafang, or Bosch.
- Bilingual (Spanish-English).
- General handyman skills (basic welding, light woodworking).
