Description
We're looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on assembler to join our Garage team — someone who takes pride in consistent, careful work and wants to grow with a company that's still building its playbook. E-bike or bike assembly experience is a big plus, but strong mechanical/electronics fundamentals and a genuine willingness to learn our build process matter just as much.
What You'll Do
- Assemble new e-bikes from the frame up, following build specs and quality standards
- Install and wire electrical components — motors, batteries, controllers, displays, sensors
- Torque and check components to spec, completing final safety and quality checks before bikes leave the shop
- Bench-test and function-check completed builds to confirm everything works before it ships
- Keep build stations organized and tools/equipment properly maintained
- Track parts and flag shortages or quality issues to the Garage Manager
- Support the Garage team with occasional maintenance or repair tasks during downtime
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on assembly experience — bikes, e-bikes, or general mechanical/electronics assembly
- Comfortable working with hand tools, torque specs, and basic wiring/electrical connections
- Strong attention to detail — every bike that leaves the shop needs to be right
- Ability to lift and maneuver e-bikes (up to 75 lbs)
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Comfortable in a production-paced environment without cutting corners on safety or quality
Bonus Points For
- Experience working with e-bike systems such as Shimano, Bafang, or Bosch
- Prior bike shop or bike/electronics manufacturing assembly-line experience
- Bilingual (Spanish-English)
What We Offer
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Paid time off (PTO)
- Employee discounts on bikes and accessories
- A dynamic, supportive team that values hard work, learning, and fun
- Real opportunities for promotion, as MOD BIKES grows, so does the Garage team, and we'd rather grow our own than hire from outside
- A long-term career, not just a job, room to build real skill and grow with us over time
Location
This role is based on-site at our Austin, TX shop (415 E St Elmo Rd, Austin, TX 78745).
How to Apply
