MOD BIKES Creative Strategist Austin, TX · Full time Company website

Overview MOD BIKES designs electric bikes and accessories for riders worldwide. We're growing fast, dreaming big, and having way too much fun building this brand. Our small in-house marketing team is looking for a Creative Strategist to bridge the gap between our growth team and our creative team — turning what's working (and what's not) into sharper creative direction, and turning product features into stories people actually want to watch.

About MOD BIKES

Founded in 2018 with limited funding and unlimited passion, MOD BIKES started out in a small shop in Austin, Texas with one big goal: to create the ultimate riding experience. Fast forward to today, and we’re proud to be a brand recognized worldwide — designing electric bikes, accessories, and unique customer experiences that set our brand apart. But we’re not just about bikes — we’re about building lasting relationships. From the first ride to years down the road, our mission is to make sure our riders feel supported, empowered, and part of the MOD family. We’re a small, tight-knit crew powered by good vibes, teamwork, and a “let’s make it happen” attitude. If you’re passionate, curious, and ready to help us turn impossible ideas into everyday wins, then come join us — we’re building something special, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

Description

We're looking for a Creative Strategist who can set the creative vision across web, social, and campaigns, then roll up their sleeves to make it happen — directing shoots, writing scripts, and partnering closely with our growth/performance marketing team to turn what's converting into sharper creative direction. If you love coming up with non-traditional ideas (TikTok-style videos, UGC, story-driven content) and can manage the photographers, videographers, designers, and editors who bring them to life, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do

  • Own the creative vision across web, social, and campaigns
  • Translate brand, product features, and performance insights into visual storytelling
  • Partner closely with growth/performance marketing to understand what's converting and shape creative direction accordingly
  • Come up with non-traditional ideas — TikTok-style videos, UGC, story-driven content
  • Direct and manage photographers, videographers, designers, writers, and editors
  • Plan photo/video shoots — concepts, shot lists, talent, locations, props
  • Write scripts and voiceover copy for video content
  • Be on-set to keep things moving and make sure we get the right shots — on-brand, on time
  • Use AI to speed up workflows and scale creative output
  • Guide our UGC program — our customer content creator community

What We're Looking For

  • A track record of owning creative direction for a brand, channel, or campaign
  • Direct experience directing shoots end-to-end — concept through execution
  • Comfortable writing scripts and voiceover copy
  • Experience giving creative direction/feedback to a team of designers, editors, or photographers
  • Comfortable using performance data to inform what gets made next
  • Able to work on-site at our Austin, TX shop
  • Genuine excitement about building something scrappy and fast, not managing a big polished machine — this isn't a six-figure role, so that budget reality should feel like a fair trade for real creative ownership

Bonus Points For

  • Comfortable creating content yourself — phone, camera, AI tools, whatever gets it done
  • Real comfort in front of the camera
  • Running your own social with genuine platform instincts — trends, hooks, pacing
  • Experience working alongside performance/growth marketing teams
  • Familiarity with electric bikes (huge plus, but not required)

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation, based on experience
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • PTO
  • Employee discounts on bikes and accessories
  • Real creative ownership at a small, growing brand
  • A tight-knit team that actually listens to your ideas

Location

This role is based on-site at our Austin, TX shop and headquarters (415 E St Elmo Rd).

How to Apply

Please submit a resume and a short cover letter explaining why you're excited about the role and why you're a good fit. The process includes a short questionnaire and a creative exercise.
