We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven entrepreneurial Vice President of Sales to lead our sales strategy and revenue operations. This hybrid role combines the responsibilities of a VP of Sales with the analytical and forecasting acumen of a Revenue Director. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving top-line growth, aligning sales initiatives with revenue goals, and optimizing the full revenue cycle across all customer segments and channels. Here at Mitra 9, we have established sales teams of over 40 sales representatives (Directors, Regional Managers, Territory and Area Sales Managers, Field Sales Representatives) which will allow this role to focus on scaling rather than building from scratch. We expect this position will boost our organic demand and foster new market opportunities. This is a remote/hybrid position with up to 50% of travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the sales team to exceed revenue targets across all regions and markets.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies that align with business objectives and market opportunities.
  • Establish performance metrics, KPIs, and incentive programs to motivate the team and drive results.
  • Build scalable processes and frameworks to support rapid growth.
  • Hire, train, and manage high-performing sales teams, including Directors, Account Executives, Sales Development Representatives (SDRs), and Regional Managers, Area/Territory Sales Reps
  • Ability to foster a strong sales culture and align teams with company goals
  • Expertise in developing and executing sales strategies to expand market share, including entering new markets (domestic and international).
  • Ability to collaborate with marketing to create promotional campaigns and with operations to ensure supply chain reliability.


Revenue Growth and Optimization

  • Own the company’s overall revenue strategy, including forecasting, planning, and pricing strategies.
  • Analyze sales and financial data to identify growth opportunities and revenue leakage.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and finance to drive customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Implement tools and systems to monitor and improve the entire revenue pipeline.
  • Must have a strong understanding of pricing strategies, profit margins, profit and loss management and forecasting to maintain Mitra 9’s competitiveness while driving profitability.


Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Finance to build accurate revenue forecasts and budgeting models.
  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure alignment on lead generation and conversion.
  • Collaborate with Product and Customer Success teams to create feedback loops that drive upsell, cross-sell, and customer satisfaction.
  • Must possess strong communication skills to build relationships with key clients and align with the CEO.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Monitor key metrics and report performance to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Provide insights on sales performance, market trends, and revenue efficiency.
  • Drive a data-informed culture across sales and revenue teams.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in senior sales, sales leadership, or business development roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven success scaling sales from $50M to $300M+ annual revenues in a startup or mid-sized company
  • Experience in beverage industry, supplements and/or CPG with a focus on wholesale, retail distribution.
  • Strong track record of exceeding sales targets and scaling revenue operations.
  • Experience managing budgets and setting realistic yet ambitious sales targets.
  • Proven success in scaling sales for a startup or mid-sized company particularly in building relationships with retailers, distributors, and wholesalers. 
  • Familiarity with health-conscious or functional beverage markets (e.g., energy drinks, botanical-based products, or similar).
  • Strong team-building and strategic planning skills, with a focus on wholesale distribution
  • Deep understanding of sales methodologies, pricing strategies, and revenue forecasting.
  • Experience with CRM and revenue intelligence platforms.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field; MBA or equivalent a plus.
