The Program Coordinator supports the successful delivery the Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP) by developing and coordinating program activities, fostering communication with stakeholders, and promoting program opportunities. This role collaborates with various teams across the organization to support producers, implement program activities, and manage program logistics, compliance, and marketing efforts.

Description

Key Responsibilities


·      Program Management

 

o  Work with the Programs team and others in planning, organizing, and implementing program activities to meet TOPP’s objectives. 

o  Lead budget development, manage expenses and participant payments, and ensure financial compliance through proper documentation and reporting.

o  Develop plans and strategies for program implementation, and lead project management efforts to maintain timelines, achieve desired results, and meet program deliverables.

o  Coordinate with and support staff, partners, participants, and other stakeholders’ efforts for successful program delivery.

o  Program deliverables include activities across technical assistance, mentorship, community development, workforce development, and data reporting.

 

·      Communications & Events

 

o  Represent the association and TOPP at events, organize and lead events, and provide education and outreach to achieve program deliverables.

o  Support program marketing and outreach efforts by assisting with development of marketing materials, technical documentation, and communications efforts.

o  Maintain proactive communication with program stakeholders, including staff, members, participants, partners, and sponsors, to ensure positive relationships and effective collaboration.

 

·      Compliance & Reporting


o  Assist with ensuring program compliance with relevant guidelines, SOPs, and regulations.

o  Collect, input, and analyze program-related data for reporting and monitoring needs.

o  Assist the Programs Manager in preparing reports, monitoring and verifying program progress and compliance, and maintaining accurate documentation.

o  Collect, organize, and securely file important documentation related to program activities.

 

·      Additional Duties

Perform all other duties as assigned to support the success and growth of the association.


Qualifications

 

  • Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, communications, nonprofit management, or related field preferred.
  • Project management credentials preferred.

 

  • Experience:
  • 3+ years of project/program management experience.
  • Experience in production agriculture required.

 

  • Skills:
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Box, and other productivity tools.
  • Experience with Zoom, Slack, and other communications tools.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Creative problem-solving, interpersonal, and critical thinking abilities.


Working Conditions


  • Primarily home office-based, with occasional office days required.
  • <20% travel to events and meetings, both in-state and out-of-state.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for meetings and events required.
  • Some activities may be held outdoors and on working farms, which may expose attendees to adverse weather or temperature conditions.


Compensation and Benefits


  • Salary: Commensurate with experience, starting at $55,000.
  • Benefits: Health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and other benefits to be discussed.
